Applicants for Residency
Positions
Three categorical positions are available per year. We also have 8 preliminary positions spread over PGY1 and PGY2. All of our intern positions are filled through the match. We fill our preliminary PGY2 positions outside of the match in the spring via the APDS job board.
Qualifications
We perform a holistic review of all eligible applications. ABS board eligibility requirements are available here.
Applicants must have passed USMLE step 1 and USMLE step 2 at time of application.
We consider both osteopathic and allopathic medical graduates with graduation dates up to 5 years prior to date of enrollment.
Foreign medical graduates must obtain ECFMG certification and be eligible for a New York State medical license. We sponsor J1 visas for eligible candidates. We do not currently sponsor H1B or O1 visas. This is determined by Lincoln Medical Center Graduate Medical Education leadership and is not at the discretion of our department. International medical graduates should contact the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) for information on how to apply using ERAS.

How to Apply
All applications should be submitted through the ERAS website. Current ERAS timeline is available here. Applicants are encouraged to submit their full application early, as late and incomplete applications are not considered.
Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to a virtual interview platform. Following APDS recommendations, to allow time for holistic review we begin offering interview invitations at the end of October.
Appointments are made through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). You must register through the NRMP website in addition to applying through ERAS.

Interviews
All interviews are conducted virtually.
Our interviews take place on Thursdays in November, December and January.
Interview sessions are 2.5 hours in duration. The first hour is an informational overview of the program by Program Director Dr. Valerie Katz. Applicants then have 2-4 interviews with faculty and senior residents in virtual breakout rooms. Between interviews, applicants will have the opportunity to talk to current residents in an informal setting.
We extend the same number of interview invites as we have interview slots. We request a response within 72 hours.
